The Engagement Ideas Guide
I took my soon-to-be fiance out for a Chinese buffet. It was just a normal night out, but I remember, I was really nervous. She kept asking what was wrong with me and why I was acting so strangely. I had to lie and tell her I was feeling a little sick, so she asked me if I wanted to skip dinner and just go home. I told her I thought it would pass and that I’d be fine. We got to the Chinese buffet, and I had to force myself to eat, just so she wouldn’t think anything was wrong, even though I wasn’t very hungry. At some point, I excused myself to go to the bathroom. While I was up I got the attention of the waiter and pulled him aside for a second.
Later when we were done eating the waiter came with the bill and the fortune cookies. I handed my girlfriend one of the fortune cookies, but she politely declined. At this point, I was freaking out because I had slipped the waiter a specially designed fortune cookie with the engagement proposal inside. Luckily I kept my wits, and went ahead and opened my own cookie (I had given the waiter two cookies with engagement proposals, because I knew he would bring cookies for both of us, and I didn’t want to confuse which cookie was for who). I nonchalantly looked at the fortune and said oops, looks like I got your fortune and handed the fortune to my girlfriend to see. She was speechless, but later she told me that she thought it was really cute
A Puzzle Sup rise
She and her boyfriend had been together for a couple of years but they had never talked about marriage. During her senior year of college, she was walking back from class when some random stranger ran up to her holding a huge bunch of balloons. She didn’t know what to do, but the stranger ran away! She noticed that there was a note attached that said “You complete me”. Thinking, gosh, that’s a little corny, but so sweet, she just brought them back to her dorm room.
There, she noticed that there was something rattling around in each balloon. She figured out that they were puzzle pieces and popped the balloons to get them out. Once she got all the pieces out, she put the puzzle together. When she finished, she had put together a picture of her boyfriend holding a sign that said “Will you marry me?” (It was one of those make-it-yourself puzzle kits that he had personalized with that photo.) Her boyfriend was already standing by her door holding a ring as she turned around.
